CODE OF ETHICS
FOREWARD BY ELIZABETH RHODES
Founder
Putting ethics at the heart of our business conduct is a powerful moral commitment and the principle of trust is essential to the sustainable development of our business. This culture of integrity is of course based on compliance with laws and regulations, but equally on commitment to the values of our Group. It must be embodied by every one of SP RHODES’S employees in their daily activities, whatever their nationality, location, position or seniority in our business.
Our Code of Ethics has defined the major principles which frame and guide our daily actions and has been the foundation for our continued success. This Code provides a framework for what is expected from each of us in our day-to-day professional activities, and how we conduct ourselves with our employees, customers, shareholders and business partners. It also defines our commitment to the environment, which we are dedicated to protecting and on which we wish to minimize our impact.
The Code of Ethics provides us with the opportunity to focus on what shapes our ethical approach to respecting and honouring the position we have assumed in our industry, at a time when our transformation into a true player in the equestrian sport sector has been achieved. The Code of Ethics powerfully reaffirms our commitment to respect for one another. We are deeply dedicated to building a supportive environment with a special focus on embracing neurodiversity and providing opportunities for highly-creative individuals who have always seen themselves beyond the four walls of corporate life. Our offices are purpose-built to encourage the creative process and this has been fundamental in our ability to scale and retain our highly-creative senior staff.
Our Code is a guide intended to provide a framework for all our activities, and to protect SP RHODES in its success and longevity.
CODE OF ETHICS
1. INTEGRITY
Maintain transparency, honestly and clear communication in the workplace. Maintain transparency, honestly and clear communication with our clients.
2. TEAMWORK
Seniority does not give employees the right to assert dominance over others. We are equal, irrespective of our position. We work together in pursuit of a common goal.
3. OBJECTIVITY
We work in a human environment in an industry that is driven by emotion. Our responses to one another and to our customers must remain objective in an effort to get the job done.
4. CONFIDENTIALITY
Client confidentiality, company confidentiality and employee confidentiality is paramount. Many of our Private Clients choose SP RHODES because they are high-profile and require discreet service. Many of our brainstorming sessions detail trade secrets; many of our employees are quiet types with vivid imaginations.
Respect this. We have a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to breach of confidentiality.
5. GROWTH
When we employ new staff, onboard new clients or reveal new ideas, it is always with the intention of growth. We foster an inclusive and wholistic approach to our business. When we grow, you grow; when we win, you win. We believe that success can only be achieved when everyone is motivated to achieve a common goal. No one should ever feel left behind.
5. COMMUNICATION
Because we foster an environment that includes neurodiversity, communication styles vary. Respect different communication styles.
6. LOVE ALL THINGS FOUR-LEGGED
The SP RHODES universe orbits around the love for our horses, dogs and other four-legged creatures. We expect all our staff to respect all living things and show kindness and respect when in the presence of the creatures that employ us. Dogs frequently do the rounds in our offices and this is purpose-built to give our staff the reprieve and connection that comes with an animal-friendly environment. Be kind to our natural world; it has a lot to teach.
7. BE DIRECT
Be direct with customers and your co-workers. Intonations are not always understood.
