The drape and valence/banner sizes you select should be influenced by the typical stall configurations of the show barns you visit most frequently.
It is common for show barns to feature either 10’x12′ or 12’x12′ stalls.
If you are a regular competitor, it is recommended to opt for 12′ drape panels. Should you find yourself in a 10′ stall, you can neatly fold the additional drape under for a polished appearance.
However, if you only participate in a couple of shows annually that offer 10′ stalls, 10′ panels should be your size of choice.
Understanding the placement of the stall doors can also assist you in determining the necessary panel widths. For instance, for a 12′ stall front with a central door, you might prefer two 6′ panels with tiebacks to neatly frame the entrance.
Like the drape panels, valances also come in varying widths – 6′, 8′, 10′, 12′, and even 17′ – with a standard height of 14″.
It is not unusual to find valances running along the tops of stalls, even when no drapes are present.
